Dr. Riley's Pelvic Floor Workshop for Women

Pelvic Floor Workshop The pelvic floor is more integrated into the core than one might think. The “deep” core is a system of muscles, including the pelvic floor, that is responsible for stabilization of the spine, trunk, hips and pelvis, and for keeping our workouts free from urinary leakage. The “core” is a container that is used to purposefully create tension and pressure, and it can become dysfunctional with or without cause. This workshop is for you if you experience urinary leakage with working out, have pelvic organ prolapse, have back/hip/pelvic pain, returning to fitness postpartum, have been told you have diastasis rectus abdominus, have difficulty with hollow hold, or if you want to get a stronger core. In the workshop we will: 1. Review anatomy of the core. 2. Learn how to connect with our deep stabilizing core. 3. Learn the fundamental steps to achieving dry double unders. 4. Practice alternative breathing techniques to help you achieve tension during weightlifting but reduce pelvic floor pressure or leaking.
